Arrivederci a Boston

Surprisingly, I have not been consumed with thoughts about my upcoming trip to Florence, Italy.  Instead, I spend my days daydreaming about sea creatures.  I can't get through a conversation without somehow relating things to the ocean, and I need to force myself not to think about them at night or I won't fall asleep.  I have only two days left working at the aquarium and it will be sad to say goodbye to the octopus, penguins, sharks, turtles, cuttlefish, electric eel, box fish, and most of all, to the epaulette sharks.  Thankfully my transition from an I'm-obsessed-with-work-and-want-to-swim-sharks lifestyle to a European-adventure-infused-with-cannolis-and-ancient-history lifestyle will be cushioned with a family beach vacation.  Because Italy is a peninsula, I will probably be able to fill my ocean cravings and might even meet some new animal friends!  I still have two weeks here in the States, but for now, arrivederci a Boston!

Your fishy friends will miss you, too, but I have a feeling they know you will come back. :)

The weather here feels much like I imagine Tuscany to feel - cool nights, morning dew followed by a warm, sunny glorious day - I hope that is what you walked outside to today - Monday August 30

Anxiously awaiting word that you just LOVE IT! Imagine that you are truly jet-lagged, but that will pass quickly with the excitement. Take lots of Vitamin C and go for it! Looking at your blog photo reminds me of what Matt looked out upon from Fiesole. Utterly breathtaking! Eat tons of risotto! Hope you are able to get the phone up and running. CIAO! Lots of hugs going across the ocean!
